A MAN in his 80s has died following a crash in Chaddesley Corbett.

At about 9.50am today (Thursday) a blue Renault Clio was being driven on Woodrow Lane when it is believed to have left the road and overturned.

The driver, a man in his 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No-one else was in the vehicle.

The man’s next of kin and the coroner have both been informed.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a senior paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulances from Cosford and Strensham to the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival at the scene, crews were told that the car had initially collided with a bush before coming to rest on its roof.

“Police at the scene had already got the man out of the vehicle and started CPR after finding him in cardiac arrest.

“Ambulance staff took over and administered advanced life support but unfortunately it soon became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or who saw the vehicle and the manner in which it was being driven prior to the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting incident number 174S of March 2.
