Over £700 raised in Copa Del Bradley charity football match

OVER £700 was raised for charity last Friday as Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service beat West Mercia Police 2-0 to retain the Copa Del Bradley memorial cup.

The annual charity football match is organised in memory of firefighter Del Bradley who passed away seven years ago shortly before he was due to retire.

This year’s game, held at Redditch Borough football club, saw the fire service keeping up their 100 per cent winning record in the competition thanks to second-half goals by Josh Warmington and Jamie Walsh.

A raffle was also held to raise cash for The Fire Fighters Charity, the British Heart Foundation and Flint House police rehabilitation centre.

Cash raised will be split between the three charities.

Del’s loved ones attended the fixture, with his partner at the time of his passing, Joanne Louise, making the trip to present the trophy.

All of the Copa Del Bradley games have been organised by Wayne Berry, who has recently retired from the fire service but decided he wanted to continue the tradition in memory of Del.
