NORTHFIELD MP Gary Sambrook has welcomes the new weapons amnesty bin at Morrisons in Rubery.

He said tackling knife crime and adding extra police officers, including 300 in the West Midlands, along with £130.5million across the UK to tackle serious violence, murder and knife crime.

Mr Sambrook said knife amnesty bins have proved successful in taking weapons off the streets in the UK over the past few years.

“No-one should be carrying knives.

“However, it is important for people to know where there are safe places to dispose of them before they are used to commit a crime.

“I urge anyone who has a weapon to take a long think and place it into the amnesty bin at Morrisons before it’s too late.”
