NORTHFIELD has got £112,000 from the Government’s Pride in Place fund to support three community projects.
The cash injection, administered by Birmingham City Council, was announced by Northfield MP Lawrence Turner.
Longbridge Childcare Strategy Group, which provides care as well as training and advice, has been granted £66,440 to deliver essential renovations at the Hollymoor Centre.
A cash injection of £36,844 has been granted to Age Concern Birmingham to deliver upgrades to Hawkesley Community Centre.
Glue Collective, which aims to use a creative approach to the way we use our urban landscape, so that we are better able to look after the environment, has been given £9,100 to deliver site upgrades to the community garden and woodland site off Shenley Lane.
Mr Turner said: “Congratulations to the successful organisations, and commiserations to those who bid but were not successful.
“I’d be happy to support those bids again for other funding in the future.”
The Pride in Place Programme will see up to £5billion given to nearly 250 areas across the UK.
Each area will receive up to £20million of funding and support over the next 10 years to make long-term improvements that residents want.
