North Worcestershire Police Cadets to watch scary films in spooky police lock-up to raise charity funds

NORTH WORCESTERSHIRE police cadets set to raise money for charity this Friday, January 11, writes Bethany Lewis.

The cadets and leaders will be taking on challenges and watching scary films as they spend their night in the old Victorian custody block at Birmingham Central Lock-Up is supposedly haunted according to TV programme ‘Most Haunted’.

All the money raised will be shared between a North Worcestershire charity of the cadets’ choice and the West Midlands Police Heritage Society.

PC Neil Sharpe, Youth Engagement and Cadet Team Leader said: “The cadets are doing a sponsored stay overnight in the Birmingham Central lock Up, in Steelhouse Lane.




“The old Steelhouse Lane is in central Birmingham and was built for the Birmingham City Police and opened in 1933 as their Central Police Station, replacing a Victorian station on the same site.

“Cadets and leaders will be staying awake and taking part in challenges throughout the night. There will also be a few scary films juts to make sure everyone is sufficiently scared.”
