A KNIFE was seized by police at North Bromsgrove High School this morning.

The blade was taken into the school by a 15-year-old student.

A statement from the headteacher Angelina Robin-Jones on the website confirmed a ‘banned item’ had been brought into school, adding school staff were present for when the student arrived and the banned item was handed over.

Immediate action was taken against the student by the school and the police, she added.

“The school’s behaviour policy is very clear about banned items, and as such, any dangerous items will not be tolerated.”

Bromsgrove Police said the force took all reports of knife crime very seriously and urged anyone who believed they knew someone was carrying a knife or other bladed weapon to call 999.
