THE HEAD and deputy head students for the next academic year at North Bromsgrove High School and Sixth Form have been named.
Amelie Taylor will be the head and Sinead Flanagan the deputy will take up their posts immediately following an online vote.
Candidates’ election speeches were pre-recorded and played and delivered live to year 12 on July 3.
It was a close call between those in the running and, in a nice twist, Amelie follows in her uncle Grant’s footsteps – he was head boy at North in 1991.
Assistant headteacher and head of sixth-form Sarah Figg said: “We are pleased to have been able to run our head student vote this year.
“It is important for students and staff to be involved in such a whole school community event.”
Amelie and Sinead are both ‘delighted’ with their roles and are very much looking forward to working with students, staff and the local community in the future.
