KIND-HEARTED students from North Bromsgrove High School have raised £780 for the Brum Xmas Dinner.
Pupils came in wearing Christmas jumpers and other festive outfits for the cause which sees mainly retired social workers and those who were in care themselves when they were younger, provide a roast dinner on Christmas Day.
Care leavers aged between 16 and 25 are nominated by their social workers if they live alone and are without any family. The idea is to provide company and social warmth for a day that for many can be challenging and lonely.
As well as the meal, dinner guests also receive a bag of food and toiletries for the holiday and a present.
A North Bromsgrove High School spokesperson said: “No-one needs to be alone at Christmas and so we wanted those young care leavers who are aged 16 to 25 and live by themselves to know that we care and we are with them.”
