NORTH Bromsgrove High School is reporting ‘significant’ improvements in pupils’ GCSE results after coming out of special measures in June.

Staff were pleased to report an increase in the number of students attaining grade 5 or higher in both Mathematics and English.

There was also an improvement in the number of students achieving the EBacc measure, which is a performance measure for any student who achieves good GCSE or accredited certificate passes in core subjects.

Assistant headteacher Mike Horton said: “We are pleased to see so many subject areas improve on their achievements from last year.

“This has led to improvements across many of the key benchmark figures the school is judged upon.”

Exceptional pupil Lukas Pye achieved nine grade 9s, two grade 8s and an A.

He said: “I am thrilled with my results.

“The teachers at North have been amazing and have helped me to secure the grades I need for Sixth Form.”

Headteacher Nick Gibson said: “I would like to congratulate students on their achievements.

“It reflects the hard work and commitment they have demonstrated over the past three years, together with the high levels of support offered from our teachers and parents.

“We wish all of our students the very best for the future.”
