North Bromsgrove High 'Breaking Free' in their High School Musical production

STUDENTS from North Bromsgrove High were ‘breaking free’ in their production of High School Musical.

The sold out show was played to the local community across three nights, welcoming its governors to the performance as well as feeder middle schools St John’s and Parkside.

Children from Rigby Hall and Chadsgrove School were also asked to join in the fun.

The school also invited members of the local community, including Rev Ray Khan, Olivia Tomkinson from Primrose Hospice, local Police Officer Barney Kelso and members of BRMG Radio.

North Bromsgrove’s lead teacher for dance and drama, Mrs Needle, has performed on stages in London’s West End as well as in several regional theatres and has previously starred in a production of High School Musical.

Due to her professional connections, the cast were sent well wishes ahead of their performances by a host of celebrities including Call the Midwife’s Helen George, Broadway choreographers Lisa Stevens and Ricky Hinds and West End star Dominic Tribuzio.

Mrs Needle said: “It’s been fantastic to bring in our local community and to show the strength of performing arts talent at North Bromsgrove.”
