THERE are now just seven places left in the Austin Sports and Social Club’s Search For A Star semi-finals.

On Saturday, Bromsgrove’s Pete Harrington, Wolvernhampton guitarist and singer Craig Anisbury and Dan Peet from Tamworth went through.

Pete performed Only You, Real Gone Kid, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me and Enjoy the Silence, while craig wowed the crowd with The Island, Me and Julio, Dancing Shoes and Big Yellow Taxi.

And Dan took to the stage to sing Feeling Good, Can’t Take My Eyes off You and Not My Father’s Son.

In heat five last Saturday Hannah Elizabeth from Leigh in Manchester, Brummie J Fenton and Jasmine Rawlins from West Heath.

The final heats will take place tomorrow and next Saturday with the last place going to the ‘wildcard’ entrant who scored the highest without making it into the top three of their heat.

The winner will scoop £2,000, the runner-up £1,000, the third place £500 and fourth £250. All the finalists will each get £100 and semi-finalists £50.

The next show will be tonight at 8pm. Tickets are £4 on the door.

For more information on the competition or about entering, call organiser Tony Maslen on 0121 457 9308.
