NewStarts thanks Bromsgrove and south Birmingham residents and businesses for their 'generosity' to help those in need

NEWSTARTS wants to thank residents and businesses across Bromsgrove and south Birmingham for their ‘great generosity’ to their local communities during the festive season.

More than 700 selection boxes were donated and have been placed in over 450 Christmas hampers, going to those in need.

Hundreds of new toys were also contributed – these were placed in the charity’s pop-up toy shops and taken by parents, grandparents and guardians to give to their children this Christmas.

Volunteers from AFH Wealth Management gave up their time to meet and greet toy shop visitors, packed hampers, hunted for hampers to give out.

BDHT and the Bromsgrove Roundtable provided funds to help buy boxes of chocolates to go in the hampers, along with many individuals who have donated to help with the cost of the hampers.

Marion Kenyon, the Chief Executive of NewStarts, said: “As always Christmas can be difficult for many families, but your generosity and support has meant that fewer families in Bromsgrove and south Birmingham will be struggling this year.

“So to every individual, organisation, business which donated gifts, selection packs, reverse advent calendars or financially – thank you.

“To those who volunteered to help at our toy shop, to pack and give out hampers – thank you.

“We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and peaceful new year.”
