New warm spaces launched in Barnt Green

BARNT GREEN will launch its very own Warm Space this month for anyone who needs somewhere to go.

The Barnt Green Parish Council has supported three churches in the villages that will be providing their venues for public use.

Starting from January 4, all venues will provide a warm room with free tea, coffee and biscuits on their designated day of the week.

Each has an accessible entrance, toilets and Wi-Fi will be also available.

Each warm space will be available throughout January and February.

Robert Cholmondeley, Chair of Barnt Green Barnt Green Parish Council, said: “It is not always obvious when people are struggling.

“Sometimes they are too proud to admit that they have difficulties.

“This initiative is designed to bridge some of these barriers where the community is coming together to offer locations that will be a warm refuge.

“They will provide a relaxed ambience with a welcome to anyone.”

Opening days and times:

Wednesday – Barnt Green Baptist Church, Bittell Road will be open between 12pm and 2pm.

Thursday – The Quakers Friends Meeting House, Sandhills Road will be open between 2pm and 4pm.

Friday – St Andrew’s Parish Centre, Sandhills Road will be open between 10am and 12.30pm.
