New project being launched at the Bromsgrove Youth and Community Hub to help young people get into music

A NEW youth and community project being launched in Bromsgrove will help remove the financial and access barriers which prevent some young people getting into music.

The scheme at The Hub, located in the basement of Bromsgrove Baptist Church, is run in partnership with Dragon Music, which also runs Bromsgrove Rock School.

Thanks to a grant from the David Morgan Trust, young people will have free access to play music and jam, with instruments there to play and tuition available from professional musicians.

Brian Hoggard from Dragon Music said: “The biggest barrier for many talented young musicians is often a simple lack of money.

“With creativity and the arts being squeezed out of many schools, projects like this help ensure young people have access to develop their music skills.”

The project will kick off on January 16 and places will be limited.

To book a space or for more details, email [email protected] or call Sarah Mulhall (Saz) on 07827 917211.

The project is also looking for volunteers or further donations to support this pilot.
