THE CHAIRMAN of Bromsgrove District Council will launch new ‘make do and mend’ sewing sessions at Bromsgrove’s Repair Cafe at 2.30pm tomorrow (Saturday).

The Repair Cafe itself will run from 2pm to 5pm at the All Saints Church Hall, Burcot Lane / Birmingham Road (near the Crabmill Pub), with the one-off sewing class from 3.45pm to 4.45pm.

It is aimed at helping parents to extend the lives of their children’s school uniform by adjusting over-sized trousers and skirts and undertaking tasks, such as putting buttons on.

All participants will receive a free sewing kit.

Participants can book their place by texting Ros at 07804 251731.

The expert volunteers at the Repair Café offer free repairs to broken bikes, wobbly chairs, faulty electrical items, snagged jumpers or jammed zips while you enjoy tea or coffee and cake.

A queueing system will ensure people are seen in the order they arrive.
