New Horizon exhibition gets under way at Bromsgrove Library

AN ART exhibition created by four mature students has gone on display at Bromsgrove Library.

New Horizon features 25 pictures, mostly mixed media, by Studio 4 – Margaret Pritchard, 84, Maggie Holmes, 81, Judy Reece and Janet Glazier, both 78.

All four undertook art and design degrees a decade ago, Janet, Judy and Margaret at what was then the University of Central England and Maggie at Wolverhampton.

The four are in the all-women art and craft group Take 13 and formed Studio 4 to showcase their contemporary artwork.

They have all had work featured in other exhibitions by Midlands art groups but this is the first one they have done together as a group.

Margaret, who lives in Hagley, said: “We started Studio 4 to develop our artwork, interests and friendships.

“The one thing all the pictures have in common is they are all very colourful but they are all very different in subject.

“We have had some really good feedback from people who have been impressed with the colour we have used.”

New Horizon is at Bromsgrove Library until March 31.
