A NEW honorary canon was appointed to Droitwich and Bromsgrove churches at a service at Worcester Cathedral, writes Eve Watson.
Wyn Beynon, priest in charge of the Wychebrook parishes and Rural Dean of Droitwich, was licensed as a canon among six others.
Honorary canons form a bridge between the diocese and the cathedral, meeting to reflect and offer advice on cathedral matters.
Rev Wyn Beynon said: “In the last few years I have been made to feel very much at home in the diocese and cathedral and so it’s a huge honour to be licensed as a canon.
“The cathedral, as the mother church of the diocese, is a wonderful resource, supporting the parishes in their local ministry and I hope in some small way that I can be a link back to show support to the cathedral’s ministry.”
The Wychebrook parishes include churches in Feckenham, Bradley Green, Stoke Prior and Wychbold.
