A NEW programme to aid residents with arthritis and joint pain is kicking off in Bromsgrove soon.
The ESCAPE-Pain programme at Bromsgrove Sports and Leisure Centre aims to help participants understand their condition and develop self-management skills.
The scheme is a programme of specialised courses designed to help those who experience knee, hip, or back pain and are led by experienced professionals.
Participants will use a progressive exercise programme to encourage safe and sensible exercise as part of a pain management strategy.
Portfolio Holder for Leisure, councillor Bernard McEldowney, said: “It is wonderful that we are able to continue to put on these ESCAPE-pain sessions for people who suffer with arthritic pain and to hopefully provide them with new coping strategies to better deal with the pain itself.”
The next course will begin on Wednesday, September 10. The course consists of 12 sessions across a six-week period: Mondays at 1pm and Wednesdays at 2pm. All sessions take place at Bromsgrove Sports and Leisure Centre.
