New community baby and toddler clothing bank opens in Wychbold

A NEW community baby and toddler clothing bank has opened in Wychbold.

The baby bank will be held at Wychbold Village Hall on the last Saturday of every month between 10am and midday to support those struggling with the cost-of-living.

Children’s clothes, toys, books and equipment suitable for youngsters up to five-years-old are on offer for free to anyone who needs them.

Over 27 families attended the opening day on Saturday, January 28, and they were each able to claim a free drink as well as receive information on other support available.

The bank was set up by Coun Rick Deller and supported by Wychavon District Council’s communities’ team.

Coun Deller said: “My wife and I appreciate the cost of having children after having our twins and recognise how quickly the needs of children change and how expensive baby and toddler items are.

“My hope is the bank will not only help people struggling with the current soaring cost of living, but it will also have environmental benefits, by releasing clothing to be worn again rather than being stuck in a loft or draw or ending up in the bin.”
