BROMSGROVE School will have a new man at the helm next year after Michael Punt was handed the role of headmaster.
The announcement was made by the school’s Board of Governors this week and he will take up his role in August next year.
Mr Punt, married to wife Gill with three sons, is currently the headmaster of Chigwell School – a post he has held since 2007.
Prior to that he was Deputy Head academic at The Perse School, Cambridge.
Mr Punt has an MA in physics from St Peter’s College, Oxford and an MSc in semi-conductor science and technology from Imperial College London.
The Governors are delighted to have appointed a vastly experienced headmaster with such a strong track record.
They added during the selection process they found him to be ‘a gracious, modest and kind man whose approach to leadership would epitomise the school’s values’ and he would promote Bromsgrove’s identity and ethos.
Mr Punt described his appointed a ‘huge honour and privilege’, adding: “It is a school whose vision and values chime closely with my own and I am thrilled to be joining such a very special community.”
