A NEW acting headteacher has joined North Bromsgrove High School.

Lee Gray took on the role of acting head teacher on an interim basis yesterday (Monday 2).

Mr Gray is also the headteacher of Studley High School – which is part of a teaching school alliance.

He will work with colleagues to support North Bromsgrove High and will oversee the implementation of a short term plan for the school.

This will include meeting with students, parents, teachers and the local community ahead of the new school-term starting in September.

Lee Gray said: “I am looking forward to working closely with staff, pupils, parents and the wider community at North Bromsgrove High School.

“I will work tirelessly, alongside colleagues, to help improve the school further and support pupils in achieving well.”

Worcestershire County Council has been keen to secure additional leadership for the school since previous head Angelina Robin-Jones stepped down from her post.

Coun Marcus Hart, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Education and Skills, said: “I’m delighted to see that an acting head has been found to lead this school going forward.

“The County Council has worked extremely hard to ensure leadership has been secured for North Bromsgrove High in such a short space of time.

“I have every confidence that the new acting head, along with the guidance and close support from the County Council, will help drive the improvements needed at this school.”
