New £25,000 outdoor gym opens in Hagley to help villagers get fit

A NEW £25,000 outdoor gym has opened in Hagley to help villagers get fit.

It has 12 stations and complements the existing gym and sports centre at Haybridge and its sports hall.

The funds came from contributions from developers Billingham and Kite as part of its 24-property scheme in the village.

During the planning process Hagley Parish Council lobbied strongly for the community to receive funding for open spaces.

Previous developments include improvements to the skate park and dual zip wire installed in 2015.

Coun Colella, chairman of Hagley Parish Council and independent Bromsgrove district councillor for Hagley West, said: “The gym is free, easy to use and is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness.

“Importantly there are special adapted pieces that can be used by the less able.”
