BROMSGROVE’S Neil Edwards been named as a finalist in the 2023 Petplan and ADCH animal charity awards for his paw-some work for the Blue Cross.
Neil, who is the charity’s Bromsgrove centre manager, helps Blue Cross provide food banks, supports its home direct service and arranges pet foster care.
He and the other 16 team members at Bromsgrove Blue Cross also build links with local communities through fund-raising and other events.
The awards, now in their 11th year, celebrate the incredible work conducted by animal charities and not-for-profit organisations.
Finalists will be vying for an award in the volunteer, employee and team of the year categories.
And Neil, who is up for employee of the year, will find out if he’s won at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 16 at Telford’s international conference centre.
Neil said: “It’s both an amazing privilege and embarrassing to be nominated for this award.
“I come in and do my job and don’t expect people to vote for me, and to get into the final three in such a prestigious award is such an honour.”
