NATURE and animals were the focus of a chaplain’s blessing at a school with links to Bromsgrove.
The annual Pets’ Blessing was held at Winterfold School, Chaddesley Corbett – part of Bromsgrove School.
During the event, animals from all walks of life were given a blessing from Father Lamb, the school’s chaplain.
In the Secret Garden at the school, the Winterfold community gathered to honour pets to commemorate the feast of St. Francis.
Year 7 pupils read an extract from Geneis and gave bidding prayers on the theme of nature and animals.
The prayer of St. Francis, Make Me a Channel of Your Peace was sang by all.
Denise Toms, headmistress at Winterfold School said, “Our pets are an integral part of our lives and the
“Pet Blessing at Winterfold is an opportunity to give thanks for the joy they bring us and share our love for our animals.
“The event is a highlight in the School calendar as children bring in their pets, both large and small to be blessed by Father Lamb.
“As the animals are blessed, a silence transcends over the proceedings, as our four-legged friends seem to understand the importance of the occasion.”
