CHILDREN at North Bromsgrove High School and Sixth Form were given vital money advice by Nationwide.

Year 10 students were taught lessons in savings, budgeting and staying safe online as part of its Money Lessons programme.

The session forms part of a programme designed for those between one and thirteen years old and give pupils the chance to brush up on their understanding of all things money.

Donna Hodgson, North Bromsgrove High School’s Deputy Head (Pastora), said: β€œ We are really pleased to have been able to bring in external experts to help bring money and finances to life, and it will no doubt help the children access learning in a new and interesting way.”

Around 98 per cent of students said they gained confidence in their financial knowledge and relationship to money.

Phil Cheetham, Branch Manager at Nationwide Building Society in Bromsgrove, added: β€œIt has never been more important to learn about money given the pressures and rising costs facing all of us.

“But not everyone has access to information on finances growing up, which is why we are talking to schoolchildren to help them start as early as possible on this journey.

“It has been a pleasure going into North Bromsgrove High School and getting to know the children.

“We have seen them grow in their abilities to manage money and given them lifelong skills.”
