Motorist stopped in Hagley for careless driving and illegal tinted windows

Bromsgrove Editorial 17th Jun, 2020   0

A MOTORIST was stopped for careless driving in Hagley earlier today.

Officers from Worcestershire Operational Policing Unit pulled over the driver after seeing the vehicle travelling erratically on the A456.

Investigations were carried out into the car’s windows which were deemed to be too heavily tinted.

According to the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) windscreens at the front must let through at least 75 per cent of light and side windows 70 per cent. Anything higher than that is illegal as it obscures drivers’ views.

It comes just days after a plea from Coun Steve Colella appeared on the Standard’s letters page in Friday’s edition of the Bromsgrove Standard.

He said too many drivers were using the village’s roads ‘like a race track’ and appealed for motorists to slow down.
