POLICE have reiterated their warning to drivers of keyless cars after another rise in the number of thefts of Land Rovers and Range Rovers.

In the latest thefts, a grey Range Rover was stolen from Maple Road, Rubery, between 6.45pm and 10.30pm. It had the partial registration number ‘YAH’.

Another Range Rover was stolen from outside a property In Barnt Green between midday and 2pm on Tuesday.

PC Marc Ginder, from Hagley and Rubery Safer Neighbourhood Team – where the thefts have been taking place, has urged drivers to buy a signal blocking pouch for the fob and spare to prevent thieves picking up the signal.

He also urged motorists to buy a full-faced steering wheel lock as they are difficult to remove and are a great deterrent.

Anyone with information on the thefts should call police on 101.
