A WORCESTER micro-brewery boss is opening a new pub on Bromsgrove High Street.

Mike Davis started The Arch Rivals as a small pub three years ago after quitting a well-paid management position and then developed the small brewery.

After a tough three years under Worcester’s Victorian railway arches battling flooding and the pandemic, Mike feels the time is right to open Arch Rivals Bromsgrove in the former Delightful Desserts building.

The laid back and quirky pub will be decorated with music memorabilia and offer local beers, guest beers from around the country, cider and spirits and sell on-site and off-site with a beer shop.

As well as background music, Mike plans to open late on Friday and Saturday nights and hold acoustic and unplugged sets, regular comedy nights and a weekly quiz.

Planning changes and contracts are being finalised and it should be open by the end of March, also bringing jobs for local people.

Mike said: “We feel this type of venue would suit a great town like Bromsgrove and feel it would be a great addition to the existing establishments.”
