Met Office issues weather warning for Bromsgrove, Rubery and Birmingham for heavy rain and possible thunderstorms

THE MET Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and possible thunderstorms for Bromsgrove, Rubery and Birmingham.

Heavy rain is forecast for midnight and between 6am and 9am tomorrow, getting lighter but continuing until 11am.

The day should be then dry for a couple of hours before the rain starts again, albeit lighter, around 7pm and into the early hours of Monday morning.

Weather experts say spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures and there is a chance homes and businesses could be flooded quickly.

The deluge could lead to damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.

Flooding, lightning and strong winds could also lead to delays and cancellations on buses and trains.

And there is a small chance some communities could become cut off by flooded roads and there may be power cuts and disruption to other services.
