A BROMSGROVE bridal stylist and model is in the running to become Miss Great Britain.

Amy Harriet Jones was selected after entering the longest-running pageant and globally recognised pageant.

A total of 38 women will battle it out at the final on September 17 in Leicester.

She told the Standard: “I feel extremely lucky to have been offered a place in the final.

“After gaining regional titles over the past five years, I would love nothing more than to achieve a national one.”

In addition to supporting local charities, Amy also devotes her time to highlighting the impact on the environment in all aspects of life.

“I believe having this national title would give me platform to raise more awareness of the small changes we could all make daily.”

The 25-year-old, a former South Bromsgrove High School student, was featured in the Standard when she became Miss Birmingham in 2018 and represented the Second City in the Miss England finals.

She also picked up the sought-after accolade of ‘Miss Intellect Birmingham 2018’ for the second time.

“Pageants are an incredibly empowering process for all of the women that take part.

“I have met some wonderful friends who have supported one another, learnt skills such as public speaking which have been directly transferable to my working life.”
