TWO masked men wielding an axe and knife robbed a large amount of money from Catshill Working Men’s Club on Tuesday night.

The robbery took place just after 11pm on August 8 at the club on Meadow Road, when an unknown man, carrying an axe, grabbed a member of staff by the arms and demanded money.

A second man, reported to be holding a knife, demanded more money from the safe, before both left on foot in an unknown direction with the cash.

The first offender has been described as a black man who was wearing a black hat and scarf around his face, with a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers.

The second offender has been described as a white man, also wearing a black hat, black scarf, black jacket and light grey jogging bottoms with a stripe running down the leg.

This comes after an attempted robbery by a masked man at One Stop in Bromsgrove last Thursday night.

The man, who was wearing a high visibility vest, demanded money and cigarettes from the Worcester Road store before pushing a staff member to the floor and punching another.

He ran away empty handed.

Any witnesses or anyone with any information on the incident should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Alternatively, submit the information via www.crimestoppers-uk.org – the Crimestoppers website.
