A DRIVER was robbed of his car at knifepoint in Rubery last night by masked raiders who dragged him from the vehicle.

The man, who was in his 20s, was driving the dark grey Audi in Holywell Lane at 7.25pm when a white Volkswagen Golf pulled in front of him, forcing him to stop.

A white van pulled up behind and men with their faces covered approached him.

He was threatened with a knife before they dragged him from his car and then drove off in the Audi.

The Audi, Golf and Van all drove off towards Rubery.

Fortunately the victim was not injured.

Det Sgt Kirsty Hickling from West Mercia Police said: “A thorough investigation has been launched and a number of enquiries are ongoing.

“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious behaviour in the area to please come forward.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
