Masked man carried out armed robbery at Bromsgrove shop with wooden bat

A MASKED man armed with a wooden bat burst into a shop in Charford and escaped with a quantity of cash.

The incident happened at the store in Gilbert Road at 10.50pm on Monday night, just before the staff were about to close up.

After entering the shop he demanded the safe be opened and the money was handed over.

He fled towards Austin Road where the wooden bat was discovered.




The man was 6ft tall and was wearing a balaclava and a black and white short sleeved t-shirt, long sleeved top underneath, blue jeans or bottoms and black boots.

He put the cash in a bag which was blue with green writing on it.


None of the staff were injured during the incident.
