Mandy's naked ambition helps raise fantastic sum for hospice

AN ORIGINAL nude painting in memory of Mandy Haden – a Primrose Hospice patient – was sold for a staggering £4,700 at auction.

The painting reflected on Mandy’s time as one of the fifty “Nudies” who took part in Sophie Tea Art’s ‘Women’ Catwalk Show in 2021.

Sophie, who ran the show, wanted to support the family after Mandy’s death in January 2022, and they both decided to auction the painting with all proceeds going to the hospice.

Before Mandy died she spoke to Sophie’s Team prior to participating in the catwalk about being diagnosed with a palliative and life-limiting illness.

Mandy said: “During these years that I have been given I have not wasted time.

“I’ve done the Forrest High Tree Walks with my family as memories, Snowdonia’s highest peak and longest zip wire, indoor sky diving and had a tattoo, as I’ve always wanted one!

“Do what you would really like to do in life as soon as you are able.”

Laura, Mandy’s daughter, added: “Mum was always so upbeat and confident.

“It was really nice for her to be able to meet other people that were in a similar boat to her.”

Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre offer care and advice to patients living with a life-limiting condition and supports families in the North East Worcestershire area.

The hospice said: “Thank you to Mandy’s family for their support for Primrose Hospice, thank you to Sophie Tea’s Team and thank you to everyone that donated through the auction.”
