Man with machete arrested after two-car crash in Northfield

A MAN was arrested for carrying an offensive weapon after a crash in Northfield last night.

The two-car collision happened around 8.50pm at the junction of Merritts Hill and Fourlands Road.

Officers from West Midlands Police came across the crash.

A 24-year-old man was seen running from the scene with a machete, and following a short foot chase he was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.




He remains in police custody today.

The two vehicles suffered substantial damage in the collision.


West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics had checked over the drivers who were both discharged at the scene.
