A MAN was stabbed last night outside Sam’s Chicken Shop in Northfield.
The man was attacked by a group of youths on Bristol Road South around 6.50pm.
He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not life-changing or threatening.
Police said they were in the early stages of their investigation and appealed for witnesses, or anyone with any information, to please get in touch.
Det Sgt Shereen Ballintine, investigation supervisor at Bournville CID, said: “This was a nasty attack and we are keen to find those responsible.
“The incident took place during rush hour so we believe there would have been a number of people around who may have witnessed what happened.
“We are appealing for witnesses or people with information to get in touch. We would particularly like to speak with people who may have dash cam or mobile phone footage.”

Police added: “We understand incidents of this nature can cause concern in the community so we will have extra officers in the area today and over the coming days to offer reassurance.”
