THIS BASEBALL bat was seized following an incident in Bromsgrove.

Officers were called to an address in the town following a report that an offensive weapon had been brandished during an incident.

Officers detained a man at the scene and spoke to him about his actions. The baseball bat was found during the search of a vehicle parked nearby. Police believe the weapon was linked to the incident so it was seized.

Police are reminding people that possessing an offensive weapon in a public place is a serious criminal offence.

Depending on the circumstances, those found in possession of such items can face significant penalties, including arrest, prosecution, and a maximum custodial sentence of four years for even carrying a weapon.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “We want to reassure our community that officers will always respond swiftly to reports involving weapons.

“Your safety remains our priority, and we will continue to take action action against anyone found carrying items intended to cause harm or intimidation.”
