Man in his 80s was robbed at knifepoint in his Rednal Road home

A WOMAN has been arrested after an elderly man was robbed in his own home in south Birmingham.

Police were called shortly after midnight today after the break-in at Rednal Road.

Valuables were stolen and the man, who is in his 80s, suffered a knife wound to his hand as he tried to protect himself.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged.

Fast CCTV work by West Midlands Police officers identified a suspect, and a woman in her 20s was arrested shortly before 2am.




She remains in custody while investigations continue.
