A MAN is in a critical condition in hospital after a serious crash on the A435 in Hollywood yesterday, between Beckets Farm and the Maypole.

The collision was between two Ford Fiestas – one grey and one white – the grey one left the carriageway and hit a tree.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent three ambulances, two paramedic officers and a volunteer doctor to the scene and the West Midlands CARE Team charity attended.

One man was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital with the West Midlands CARE Team doctor on board. He remains there in a critical condition.

A second man was treated for minor injuries at the scene and was conveyed to Heartlands Hospital for further treatment. He has since been discharged.

The third patient was assessed and discharged at the scene.

The road was closed northbound until midnight and police want anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage to report it here or by calling 101.
