Man charged over Birmingham city centre stabbings

THE MAN arrested over the murder of Jacob Billington and seven other attempted murders has been charged with the offences.

Zephaniah McLeod, 27, of Nately Grove, Selly Oak, Birmingham, is accused of the offences which happened in the early hours of Sunday morning in Birmingham City Centre.

McLeod is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning.

Jacob, 23, died after being attacked in Irving Street while enjoying a night out with school friends from Liverpool visiting one of their group who is studying in Birmingham.




A post mortem concluded he died as a result of a stab wound to the neck.

Police are still urging any witnesses they have not spoken to and those with photographs and video footage of the night to call them on 101.
