THE MAIN pool at Bromsgrove Community Leisure Centre has had to be closed until further notice because of a leak.

It was discovered on February 9 and, as well as public swimming stopping, Bromsgrove Swimming Club also train there.

Bromsgrove SC said it had been kept in the loop about developments and, luckily, it had managed to get pool time at King Edwards School Five Ways in Bartley Green.

A club spokesperson said: “They are great facilities and it’s a fantastic pool to train in.

“Our members love it and we hope it will repaired soon.”

Toni Gaskins, regional contract manager for Everyone Active, which operates the centre, said: “We have identified the cause of the issue and are working with contractors and emergency pool plant specialists to ensure this is repaired as quickly as possible.

“While we cannot specify exactly when the pool will reopen, we anticipate the emergency works will take more than two weeks.

“Where possible, we have transferred swimming sessions and lessons to the smaller pool, and will continue to do so while the main pool is closed.

“We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused and will provide further updates as soon as we can.”
