Lots to look forward to as the Bromsgrove Festival enters week two

THIS YEAR’S Bromsgrove Festival is entering its second week with loads more events and activities for all ages.

Renowned acoustic act Dee and the Beats will be at Fairfield Village Hall at 8pm tomorrow (Saturday, July 1), The event is part of the Fairfield Flicks and tickets are available from fairfieldflicks.org.uk at £8 per person.

Brass Beatz is the latest band to take to the stage at Bands In The Parks.

They will perform between 2.30pm and 4.30pm this Sunday, July 2, at the Jubilee Bandstand in Sanders Park.

The performance, which includes feelgood songs from the 1960s and 70s to the present day, is free.

The Right Brass Notes in the Right Order is next up for the Festive Classics at Avoncroft Museum’s Guesten Hall.




The concert by the Holborne Brass Ensemble will feature music from Albinoni, Bach, Cole Porter, Lennon-McCartney and more, Tickets are £30 for the performance and a meal or £15 without food.

At 10.30am next Saturday, July 8, ‘Players Platform’ takes place at Catshill Baptist Church, Milton Road.

The free event provides a free platform for young musicians in the Bromsgrove area.

Bromsgrove Folk Festival gets under way on Thursday and runs until next Sunday, July 6 to 9.

The event is billed as a long weekend of fun, friendship, great music, stalls, hands-on activities, workshops, live music, street food, bars, dance, storytelling and more.

Among the acts on the line-up are The Lost Notes, Colum Sands, The Jigantics, Anthony John Clarke, Dave Gibb, Vicky Swan and Johnny Dyer, Zulu Tradition, Keith Donnelly, Lauren South, Kenny Spiers, Silvington Patchwork Skies and more.
