IT IS THE time of year for people to come together, amidst the sparkling festive lights, decorated trees and celebrations with family and friends.
But it can also be a lonely time for people especially the elderly, those who find themselves homeless and residents who have lost loved ones.
I commend the charities and businesses who are opening their doors on Christmas Day to alleviate loneliness and I also urge you to look in on your neighbour, even just to share a mince pie – it could mean the world.
It is the season of goodwill after all.
I hope you all have a great Christmas and my warmest wishes for 2020.
