CHILDREN and families had ‘so much fun’ joining in with the kings coronation celebrations at a playgroup in Longbridge.
Playdays Playgroup hosted the coronation party full of events including a scavenger hunt to match pictures of famous London landmarks, cake decorating, arts and crafts crown making, party games and a picnic.
The celebrations ended with each child receiving a certificate to take home.
The coronation marking the formal ascension of King Charles took place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, the ceremony was hosted by the Archbishop of Canterbury and was watched by millions around the world.
Thousands of members of the public took to the streets on the day of the event to join the Coronation Big Lunch funded by various local councils across the country.
On Sunday May, 7, a special Coronation Concert was staged and broadcast live at Windsor Castle by the BBC and BBC Studios, with several thousand members of the public attending after winning tickets via an open ballot.
The coronation weekend finalises with the Big Help out on Monday May 8, an initiative encouraging people across the country to celebrate the coronation by engaging in their local community through volunteering, in the hopes of inspiring more widespread volunteering initiatives.
