BROMSGROVE’S popular Avoncroft Museum have shared a heartfelt community story about how it’s Living History Festival was saved by a local highway’s infrastructure firm.

Just a week before the museum’s biggest event of the year in May, a waterlogged site put the history festival at risk.

The ground was in a poor state and access to the site was becoming increasingly unsafe for the large number of vehicles.

Avoncroft Museum’s head of Estates Rob Harrison put a call out for help which was answered by Jason Henderson from Ringway Infrastructure Services.

Ringway who provide highways infrastructure services across the UK, have a depot in Bromsgrove and agreed to provide materials, equipment, and a workforce to come to Avoncroft’s rescue.

With three days of hard work and the right tools, equipment, and materials for the job, Ringway and their Supply Partner CR Macdonald, who provided a JCB for the job, ensured the event was safe to go ahead.

Rob Harrison said: “This event simply could not have gone ahead without the amazing support of Ringway and CR McDonald’s, Avoncroft is a charity and really depends on companies like these for jobs of this size.

“We could not have afforded to fund the work and we would have lost the opportunity to show off the amazing re-enactors, who set up over 30 camps representing history from The Bronze age to the Cold War.

“We look forward to continuing our close relationship with Ringway in the future”.
