A BROMSGROVE Indian takeaway is helping families, and the elderly get through the winter by offering free hot meals.

Little Bengal wanted to help its community through the cost of living crisis and make sure no one this winter goes hungry.

Jomir Uddin, Director of Little Bengal, said: “It is sad to see people suffer in this way and have to choose between heating and eating this winter.

“I do not want people suffering in silence and want to let them know that there is help out there.”

The takeaway aims to offer a discrete service, with no questions asked, so the public feels comfortable about coming forward.

Little Bengal was set up in 2018, and since then, has helped the community in various ways, including delivering over 2,000 meals to the elderly and hospitals during the pandemic.

Meals will be available from October 2, and subsequent Sundays between 5pm and 7pm until January.

Those who wish to book a free meal have been requested not to ring the main business’s number.
