THE whole of Lickey Hills Primary School came together today to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Before the 430 children and staff broke up for half-term, they all came together for a street party in the main playground which was decorated specially for the occasion.

Alison McAndrew took on the enviable role of The Queen, songs were sung and party food enjoyed.

In the run up to the party, a host of Jubilee activities have been held, including an art competition, a display at Lickey Church and a history competition based on the last 70 years – the length of The Queen’s reign.

A non-uniform day also saw many dress in red, white and blue.

Headteacher Amanda Salisbury said: “I’m so proud of the staff and children and the amount of effort and hard work that has gone into today to make it such a success.

“Everyone has really enjoyed our Jubilee day and I hope the children will remember this momentous occasion for many years to come.”
