Lickey Hills Rotary Club and Inner Wheel create 'Christmas tree' of gifts for teenagers in need

Bromsgrove Editorial 21st Dec, 2023   0

THIS FESTIVE season, the Rotary Club and Inner Wheel of Lickey have created a Christmas tree with a difference for teenagers who may have very little in their stockings this Yuletide.

The clubs have been supporting the local foodbank at Northfield Community Partnership with monthly drop-offs of groceries for the last six years.

This Christmas they were asked if they could help out with some Christmas presents as well.

NCP said it always had lots of donations of presents for younger children, but the group which missed out were teenagers. Both clubs were keen to answer this call, so on top of the normal supply of groceries they were able to deliver this tree of goodies to be distributed.

Sue Wilding, Lickey Hills Inner Wheel Club President, said: “The foodbank has always been a local charity close to our hearts and when they asked for support with toiletries for teenagers, it was too good an opportunity to make sure that people had a little joy at Christmas.”

Both clubs have been holding their Christmas collections at Morrisons in both Rubery and Bromsgrove this month when all donations will go to local good causes and Rotary Charities.
