'Let in the light this Christmas' - A message from Bromsgrove Vicar, Rev Ray Khan

Tristan Harris 25th Dec, 2025   0

WHEN light shines through blue glass, it turns blue. Through red, it turns red.

Together in a stained-glass window, they create a beautiful rainbow.

The light has not changed, but the glass transforms how we experience it.

We, too, are like that glass. The way God’s light shines through us is unique.

You might be the bright yellow pane and someone else the deep purple one. Together, we make something beautiful.

In the Christmas story, God’s light came softly, not like harsh headlights.

It took a risk, shining through ordinary people.

Mary could have said ‘no’. Joseph could have said ‘no’. The innkeepers and shepherds could have turned away.

But they chose to let the light in, and it shone out into the world.

So, how is your glass looking? Is the light of love and trust shining through? Are you letting others shine in their own unique ways?

The Light of the World came as a fragile baby.

You don’t need to be a laser show – just let the light shine through, however small.

Have a most blessed and happy Christmas.
