A PROFESSOR of creative writing at the University of Birmingham will be the speaker at the next Bromsgrove WORDS event.

Luke Kennard, who will give his presentation at The Studio at Artrix at 7.30pm on July 16, is a poet and novelist.

He was the Canal and River Trust’s Poet in Residence in 2016 to 2017. He will focus his reading and discussion on the poems he wrote during this period, including some which were written on the Worcester to Birmingham Canal Path.

And he will read poems from a variety of his collections from the last 20 years, including his 2021 Forward Prize winning book ‘Notes on the Sonnets’.

Tickets, at £10 each, are available from the Artrix Box Office by emailing [email protected] or by sending a cheque made payable to ‘WORDS’ and a self-stamped addressed envelope (SSAE) and email address to Sycamore House, Rigby Hall, Bromsgrove, B60 2EW.
